European Regional Development Fund to support "revolutionary geothermal venture" in Cornwall, England.

The United Downs Deep Geothermal Power project by Geothermal Engineering Limited (GEL) has been making the news lately.
With an investment from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of up to GBP10.6m ($13.5 million), the project owner Geothermal Engineering Limited (GEL) is pushing forward a “revolutionary geothermal venture” at United Downs near Redruth in Cornwall, England.
The project, which is the first of its kind in the UK, will explore the geothermal resources at depth and hopes to use the energy to drive a demonstration power plant supplying electricity to the local grid.
