This interesting webinar by the Covenant of Mayors will talk about geothermal energy in cities and local communities with its opportunities and challenges.

District heating and smart thermal grids hold a vast opportunity for the economic use of renewable energy, especially, geothermal energy. In the context of our changing climate, geothermal powered district heating systems offer today economies of scale, and an even more competitive alternative to traditional coal or gas-powered systems. This webinar aims to offer an outlook on potentials and use of geothermal energy and a deeper insight into opportunities and challenges of such systems, demonstrating concrete examples and good practices throughout Europe.
