Disputes over salaries and working conditions are cause of a strike on the project site of the Olkaria IV geothermal power plant project at Naivasha, Kenya.

Local news in Kenya report on a strike by about 500 workers at the Olkaria IV geothermal power plant project in Naivasha.

Low wages and working conditions seem to be the reasons mentioned and currently put work on the project on hold.

The workers are working for private Hadish Company and are demanding a pay increase of 50%, which would represent – so workers – a fourth of the salaries of foreign workers on site.
