The Geothermal Development Facility for Latin America and the Carribean will hold a half-day Technical Assistance Forum (TAF) in conjunction with the Geothermal Congress for Latin America and the Caribbean (GEOLAC) taking place July 17-18, 2018 in Mexico City.

In conjunction with the Geothermal Congress for Latin America and the Caribbean (GEOLAC), a half-day Technical Assistance Forum (TAF) for the Geothermal Development Facility for Latin America (GDF) will be held.

The Technical Assistance Forum (TAF) is designed to assist ministries and policy-setting agencies interact with development finance organizations to identify technical assistance gaps and opportunities across the geothermal development spectrum.  While the forum is policy focused, participation is also encouraged from the private sector.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Geothermal Development Facility (GDF) – Funding status, opportunities and lessons learned one year since the launch of the funding program
  • Chile Roundtable: Technical Assistance In Action – Summary of the World Bank-sponsored TA provided for Chilean geothermal roundtables. Results and path forward.
  • Geothermal for Positive Social Impact – Can Technical Assistance help prove that geothermal has significant underappreciated positive social impact vs. other energy options?
  • Technical Assistance 2.0 – A discussion of current geothermal TA programs and how those programs need to evolve in a world of low cost intermittent power.

The GDF Workshop is an optional registration item for GEOLAC participants. There is no fee to attend. You will have the option to reserve a place at the workshop when you register to attend GEOLAC.
