To be held for the third time, the IGC Türkiye Geothermal Congress and Exhibition will again bring together Turkey’s geothermal sector to showcase its achievements, market opportunities and challenges, but also engage in lively discussion and network among peers. The event is organized by JeotermalHaberler, the main geothermal energy industry news platform for Turkey and will take place in the Sheraton Hotel Ankara, 14-15 March 2018.

The Turkish Geothermal Energy Market has seen an incredible growth in less than 10 years from 30 MW installed power generation capacity in 2008 to 1,100 MW as of today. With up to 1,000 MW of additional
capacity under development or planned, the market continues to be one of the hottest geothermal markets globally.

The IGC Türkiye 2017 conference, reflecting and pushing this development attracted more than 300 participants in last events in Izmir. This highlights the significance as the key event of Turkeys geothermal energy industry. The high-profile gathering is used by international suppliers and service providers to present themselves in the prospering market.

The two-day event will bring together representatives from developers, operators, suppliers, government, municipalities and authorities in the Sheraton Convention Center in Ankara. The event, featuring workshops, a trade show and congress will discuss feed-in tariffs and funding schemes, economy of scale and cost reduction potentials, explore prospects for the development of heat and electricity producing plants, and discuss challenges and solutions after drilling and during operation. There will also be a specific emphasis on financing and funding for geothermal projects in Turkey and the event has won the World Bank as a co-host of the event.

The event has established itself as a meeting place for government, operators, developers, agencies and financiers to understand current market trends, explore growth opportunities, facilitate new relationships, and to promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise. This is especially facilitated by side events like a networking lounge on the first day of the congress.

Meet 400+ delegates to discuss the challenges of the most interesting geothermal market between Europe and Middle East. The congress provides a forum for Turkish and international players in the sector and those interested to engage in exploring opportunities for involvement. With synchronous translation for Turkish to English and English to Turkish, the congress is accessible to both Turkish and international participants.
