The newly established award for young geothermal scientist in Germany has been named Christian-Hecht-Award, named after the late Dr. Christian Hecht, who played an important role for geothermal development in Bavaria, Germany. Application for this year are open until September 15, 2018.

We previously reported on a new award created for young geothermal scientists, the Christian-Hecht-Award. Make sure not to miss the application deadline which is tomorrow, September 15, 2018.

Young scientists working on applied geothermal topics will be honored with the Christian?Hecht?Award for the first time this year at the German geothermal congress Praxisforum Geothermie.Bayern in Munich/Germany, held from October 16 to 18, 2018. We are looking for the best junior scientific work on applied deep geothermal energy in the Bavarian Molasse Basin.

It is precisely the motivated students and PhD- students who often make important contributions to applied geothermal practice with their work. The newly created Christian?Hecht?Award recognizes their important work and gives them the opportunity to introduce them to the industry. Among others, the jury includes experts from the SWM Stadtwerke Muenchen and the Geothermal Alliance of Bavaria as well as Dr. Jochen Schneider of Enerchange.

The young scientist award is named after Dr. Christian Hecht, for whom geothermal research in the Molasse Basin was a close affair of the heart due to the cooperation between industry and science and the supervision of research work.

The application deadline for the Christian-Hecht-Award ends on September 15, 2018. Information on further details of the award can be found here.
