As a result of the works started in 2009, 5,000 residences are heated with geothermal brought to the district with the 23-kilometer main pipe transmission line. With the investments made in geothermal energy, new employment areas are provided in the district. Mayor Yavas said, “We have also established our second heating center in order to increase the number of residences heated by geothermal and to provide comfortable heating in every region. We completed the studies and started experimenting. With the new region, the number of residences heated with geothermal energy in our district has reached approximately 5,000.” said.

With the cooperation of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, GMKA, Balikesir Metropolitan Municipality and Sindirgi Municipality, the region’s first Geothermal Vegetable and Fruit Drying facility started operating in Sindirgi.
