Turkey’s geothermal sector has experienced an incredible rise in recent years, and will be sharing the Turkish geothermal experience in an eventful 3-day conference in early June.
From June 6-8, leading Turkish and international geothermal experts are set to gather at the 2016 IGC Turkey-Izmir International Geothermal Conference. The conference – simultaneously translated (in both English and Turkish) – will provide updates and insights on the latest developments in geothermal technologies, financing, reservoir management, operations and exploration, as well reviewing Turkey’s geothermal sector, how it developed, and how it will continue to do so.
The conference, will take place at one of the region’s finest hotel, the Swissôtel Büyük Efes ?zmir. In addition to the many presentations and demonstrations, the conference will include sufficient time for networking and engaging discussions.
On the first day of the conference, Italian Exergy will provide a unique opportunity to visit its turbine manufacturing facilities in Izmir. In the afternoon, the Congress opens followed by a Forum of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey. This Forum highlights recent developments in geothermal energy and geothermal energy financing. It is open to all attendees at no additional cost, however, registration is necessary.
On the second day, the technical forums of the IGC offer a wide variety of topics from all development steps of geothermal power plants. Starting from the financing and the legal situation over exploration to operational experiences with the reservoir, the thermal water loop to power plant technology and sustainability and secondary use, the congress features the important topics. And faces new developments like methane generation form CO2 or sustainable agriculture with geothermal.
Attendees include but are not limited to leading power plant developers and operators of Turkey, but also investors, developers, service companies, suppliers and municipalities are part of the event.
