JICA provides $53 million loan to Tulehu project in Indonesia

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is providing a development loan of $53.4 million to the Tulehu geothermal power project of PLN in Indonesia.

Indonesian news report that the “Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide development loans of up to $147 million for two power generation projects and one water resource management project.

The agreement was signed by representatives of JICA and the Indonesian government in Jakarta last week, a JICA official statement said on Monday.

The loans include 5,104 million yen ($53.4 million) for the Tulehu Geothermal Power Plant Project, with PT PLN as the executing agency.

The Tulehu project carries a combined annual interest rate of 0.3 percent for construction and 0.01 percent for consulting services, with a repayment period of 40 years and a 10-year grace period.
