4th Call for Proposals open for Latin America Geothermal Development Facility (GDF)

The GDF program has opened its 4th Call for Proposals, which will be open until November 26, 2019. Under the program developers of geothermal projects in Latin America can apply for funding for early development work, including some drilling.

The Geothermal Development Facility for Latin America has opened its Fourth Call for Proposals (CFP) is now open.

You may submit your application anytime between now and Midnight (23:59) Greenwich Mean Time (GMT -5) of November 26, 2019.

All Those applicants that have been accepted in Expression of Interest (EOI) 4 are eligible to make a proposal for CFP 4.

Those applicants that were accepted in previous EOIs are also eligible to apply in CFP 4.

The objective of the Facility (GDF) is to encourage public and/or private investment in geothermal power development in Latin America. Funding is available for the following activities:

GDF will provide financial support to assist in mitigating geothermal exploration risk. The GDF is the first multidonor climate initiative to promote geothermal energy within Latin America. It is expected to improve access to equity or other funding sources for geothermal developers in the region, and to play a catalytic role in establishing geothermal energy as a strategic option in power-expansion planning within the participating countries.
