5th European Geothermal PhD Day, Mar. 31-Apr. 2, 2014

The 5th European Geothermal PhD Day (EGPD) will be held in Darmstadt, Germany from March 31 to April 2, 2014. The event will bring together PhD students working in the field of geothermal research not only in geosciences, but also including engineering, chemistry, business, law, etc.

The 5th European Geothermal PhD Day (EGPD) is held following the success of the last four European Geothermal PhD Day held in Potsdam, Reykjavik, Pisa and Szeged in Darmstadt, Germany.

The event will take place in Darmstadt, Germany, 31st of March to 2nd of April 2014 and will be hosted by the Darmstadt University of Technology, Institute of Applied Geosciences, Chair of Geothermal Science and Technologyin collaboration with the Young Geothermal Chapter (Junge Geothermie) of the German Geothermal Association.

PhD students working in the field of geothermal research are invited to take part, not only in geosciences, but also including engineering, chemistry, business, law, etc.

The conference is free of charge, charges for the field trip depend on funding and group size.

Each participant will have the chance to present their work both with an oral presentation and a poster.

Oral presentation could be power point or pdf. Speech times depend on the number of participants and will be announced later, but will not be longer than 4-5 minutes. We think the focus should be set on the poster sessions, thus we are trying to keep oral sessions short.

Posters should be of A0 dimension. We are trying to free up enough space to put up all poster concurrently all day long, so you don’t have to worry about missing one.

The conference will start with an icebreaker party on the 31th of March, proceed with the oral sessions and poster presentations on the 1st of April and finish with a field trip on the 2nd of April. A detailed program will be announced in February/March 2014.

Deadline for application is the 1st of March 2014.
