Alarko Holding invests in geothermal greenhouse in Afyonkarahisar, Türkiye

Turkish conglomerate Alarko Holding has entered the geothermal market with the acquisition of geothermal greenhouses in Afyonkarahisar, Türkiye.

Making a statement through the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Alarko Holding has announced the acquisition of 30,000 square meters of indoor geothermal greenhouse from Ser Farm Greenhouse Food Agriculture and Industry Joint Stock Company in the province of Afyonkarahisar in Türkiye. The price of acquisition was TL 60.17 million (approx. USD 3.16 million).

JeotermalHaberler had previously reported on Alarko Holding identifying the agriculture and food industry as strategic sectors for its new investment plans.

The acquisition was made by Alarko Tar?m Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim ?irketi, a subsidiary of Alsera Geothermal Tar?m G?da Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim ?irketi.

As a result of the transactions carried out, as of today, Alsera Geothermal Tar?m G?da Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim ?irketi now owns approximately 75,000 square meters of planted greenhouses and a total of 48,235.21 square meters of land suitable for the construction of a field-qualified geothermal greenhouse.

Alarko Holding engages in the generation and sale of electrical energy, and for this purpose, it establishes and operates power plants in accordance with electricity market laws. These include the 76-MW Karakuz  hydropower plant, the 10.6-MW Gönen hydropower plant, and the 82-MW  K?rklareli Combined Cycle Gas Power Plant. The company also has a total of 51 MW Solar power plants.
