Pre-registration applications for the geothermal and district heating project in Buharkent, Aydin district have started. Buharkent Mayor Mehmet Erol was the first person to sign the project’s registration form. We have previously reported on the plans for a geothermal heating project in Buharkent.
Mehmet Erol, who accelerated the works for the heating of Buharkent with geothermal and the development of greenhouse cultivation in the region, aims to heat approximately 4 thousand houses with geothermal, as we have previously reported.
There are only a few days left before the 13 thousand population of Aydin’s district, Buharkent, will meet with energy that will heat it four times cheaper than natural gas. Mayor Erol recently introduced the residential heating project with geothermal to the residents of the district. Filling the first member registration form, the Mayor invited the people of Buharkent to register for this important clean heating project.
The Mayor stated that they wanted to start the project as soon as possible before the costs increased and continued as follows: “We will meet with geothermal, which is the source that will heat our Buharkent four times cheaper than natural gas. Since we see geothermal as wealth and value, we want to use it for the benefit of our people. We established Buharjet A.S. within our municipality and started working. When we look at the energy prices in the last period, we will heat all our surrounding neighbourhoods, especially our district centre, with clean energy geothermal, which will save four times the current energy, natural gas.
Mayor Erol further described the future plans for this project: “We will hit the first dig next month by launching this service as soon as 2023. This will be an example for Aydin. We will be the first in Aydin and in this context, I signed the Geothermal Heating Member Registration Form first. I signed for the heating of 2 of my houses with geothermal. Good luck to all of us. We have started to receive your preliminary applications with the team we have established within our municipality. I am waiting for you to benefit from 1 year of free heating”.
