Argentinian JV company eyeing geothermal development in the country

The argentinian venture Y-TEC is interested in developing further the geothermal capacity and estimate that between 2 and 4 MW can be generated in Jujuy.

Gustavo Bianchi, president of Technology YPF SA ( Y-TEC ), an Argentina venture between the state oil company and the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) in an interview expressed his interest in the development of geothermal energy in Argentina and other sectors.

As discussed in an interview with the news source, Management of Renewable Energy Y-TEC seeks to harness the great potential of hot steam inside the mountain to provide electricity generation, eg mining ventures. “In Jujuy we can potentially generate two to four megawatts of power in the mountains. The good thing is that it is renewable and can be done quickly” said Bianchi.
