Call for Papers, 35th Intl Geological Congress, Cape Town, South Africa

The 35th International Geological Congress 2016 in Cape Town, South Africa has issued a Call for Papers and will feature a geothermal energy stream.

With a geothermal as part of a symposia topic area, we thought this might be of interest.

The 35th International Geological Congress, taking place August 27 to September 4, 2016 in Cape Town, South Africa has issued a call for papers. The deadline is January 31, 2016.

The geosciences are particularly relevant to developing alternate and renewable forms of energy, including nuclear and geothermal energy. This theme presents the opportunity for papers and symposia on the application of the geosciences to the development of carbon-alternate energy forms.

Call for abstracts is open for either an Oral or Poster presentations. You will be asked for your preferred presentation format but the final allocation will be decided by Theme Conveners and the Scientific Programme Committee.

The deadline for abstract submissions is 31st January 2016. Acceptances of papers will be sent out by 31st March 2016. Only electronic submissions will be accepted via the IGC Abstract Submission Portal link. Click Here

The 35th International Geological Congress (IGC) will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, between 28 August and 4 September 2016 (Conference Website). This prestigious event is one of the largest international geological congresses and is presented by a different country every fourth year and is one of the most important activity of the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS). The Council for Geoscience, together with the Geological Society of South Africa and other collaborators from academia and industry, is currently spearheading the preparations for the 35th IGC in South Africa.
