CFE plans large tenders for various projects until 2018, including geothermal

There are 24 general projects in the pipeline worth $10 billion dollars and include a new phase of the geothermal power plant of Los Azufres.

Local news from Mexico detail that it is expected that before the end of the year, the Mexican Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) will launch tenders equivalent to more than 150 billion pesos ($10 billion dollars).

The money would be used for infrastructure projects in Mexico and the United States before 2018, mainly to restructure the US transport system for natural gas, a large wind project and geothermal energy project among others.

In total, 24 new projects that seek to reduce losses in electricity distribution system, gain more efficiency, five pipelines, the new phase of the geothermal power plant of Los Azufres.
