The delegation will be spearheaded by the chairman of the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE), Carlos Obregón who today travels to La Paz to sign the agreement.

Local Bolivian news state that a delegation of officials and technicians from Costa Rica will arrive this week in Bolivia to sign an agreement to support a geothermal power project facing the Bolivian state National Electricity Company (ENDE), officials said.

The delegation will be spearheaded by the chairman of the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE), Carlos Obregón, who today travels to La Paz to finalize the agreement that emerged after Bolivian President Evo Morales issued an official proposal with his equal from Costa Rica Luis Guillermo Solis, during the recent summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

The agreement “is an excellent opportunity to convey to the Bolivian technicians the experience we have gained over more than 40 years in geothermal” Obregon said in a statement from ICE.

According to the aforementioned note, the official delegation will visit two geothermal fields from Bolivian state company Empresa Nacional de Electricidad (ENDE), while in La Paz the Costa Rican experts will showcase their past experience with power generation projects.
