CROWDTHERMAL releases Beta version of core services
The EU-funded CROWDTHERMAL Project has released a Beta version of its core services aimed at improving community engagement for geothermal projects.
The Horizon 2020-funded CROWDTHERMAL Project has launched the Beta version of its core services for communities of citizens, geothermal project developers, and local authorities with a view to facilitating the involvement of citizens in the development of geothermal energy projects. The core services can be accessed via this link.
The mission of the EU-funded CROWDTHERMAL project is to empower society to directly participate in the development of geothermal projects, with the help of alternative financing schemes and social engagement tools. We recently reported on the project’s First International Conference where the services aimed at empowering society to participate in geothermal projects were introduced.
These services encompass environmental studies, economic aspects, financial risk mitigation and social acceptance considerations. With these services, the project aims to contribute to the accelerated market development of geothermal in Europe, thus also supporting the EU’s 2030 climate and energy targets and the new REpowerEU plan.
The objective of these services is to turn CROWDTHERMAL into a one-stop shop for enquiries about empowerment in geothermal projects through community funding. The project team is seeking feedback on its service proposition and welcomes constructive user opinions via a dedicated survey.
