The deadline for nominations for the 2023 Ruggero Bertani European Geothermal Innovation Award has been extended to 10 January 2023.

The European Geothermal Energy Council (EGEC) has announced an extension for the deadline for nominations for the 2023 Ruggero Bertani European Geothermal Innovation Awards (EGIA). The new deadline will be on 10 January 2023. Nominations can be sent via the EGEC website.

The Ruggero Bertani EGIA is given to companies that have made outstanding contributions towards the field of geothermal energy in the form of innovative products, scientific research and project initiatives. Finalists will be announced on 3 February 2023.

The competition is calling for European projects, processes, products, and initiatives from European companies, entities, or organizations across all value chain and geothermal applications, provided that they are located or have operations within Europe. The entry must cover a field application of a new concept or the development of an existing process or product to provide an innovative and sustainable approach, released within the previous year (01/01/2022 to 31/12/2022).

The 2022 EGIA was awarded to Baker Hughes for the project “Corrosion-Resistant Podded Electrical Submersible Pump and Completion System.”
