Dominica Geothermal Development Company to host local meeting, Oct. 15, 2020

Dominica Geothermal Development Company is holding a community meeting to update the local community on the environmental survey for the planned additional reinjection well to be drilled and pipework.

As reported on the website of the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Caribbean, the Dominica Geothermal Development Company Ltd has announced it will host a community meeting.

The company DGDC Ltd. is inviting residents of the community of Laudat to a meeting on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020 from 6pm at the Community Centre.

The announcement reports that it will provide a project update, as well as an overview on the findings of the ESIA for the planned new reinjection well and pipeline by the consultant, Eclipse Inc.

During the recent GEOLAC event in September, it was announced that the project has changed in scope and is now planning a 10 MW project with an additional reinjection well to be drilled and some changes to the planned construction of a geothermal power plant. A tender is planned for EPC of the larger plant size and the drilling for the reinjection well. We reported in August 2020, that the project needed to revamp plans for the development of the power plant. Target of operation of the geothermal power plant has set at mid-2022.

We will report more when we learn about details.
