Registration at early bird rates is open for the fourth Budapest Geothermal Energy Summit, convening geothermal leaders in the Central & Eastern Europe region.
The Budapest Geothermal Energy Summit will be back again this year for its fourth edition, taking place at the Hotel Marriott Budapest in Hungary on 14 September 2026. As the biggest annual meeting point for geothermal stakeholders in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), this year’s event will once again convene policymakers, investors, developers, and innovators to discuss and explore the potential of geothermal energy in the energy transition.
This year’s edition follows strong momentum from last year, where representatives from 100 companies across 20 countries attended the event.
The Budapest Geothermal Energy Summit 2026 arrives at a decisive moment for the industry. The value of geothermal as a unique and versatile renewable energy source is being increasingly recognized in Europe, with the recent AccelerateEU plan specifically highlighting its potential for electricity generation, heating, and cooling. The European Union is also expected to publish its Geothermal Action Plan soon, which is expected to outline clear regulatory pathways for mainstream geothermal technologies and next-generation solutions.
Moreover, geothermal activity has been accelerating in many countries in the CEE region. Several geothermal wells are being drilled in Poland simultaneously, while a government-led exploration drilling campaign in Croatia was successful in identifying several high-temperature geothermal sites. Hungary is also a regional leader, hosting one of the largest geothermal district heating networks in Europe. The country also has potential for more installed capacity in geothermal power generation.
With geothermal energy moving to the forefront of Europe’s clean energy agenda, the event will the place to hold dialogue between public- and private-sector stakeholders, deliver essential insights on the market, and participate in high-level networking opportunities.

Early bird registration is open
