East Africa Webinar Series – Geothermal Database Management, Oct. 6, 2020

USAID and USEA invite to a webinar on the principles of data management as applied to geothermal licensing and geo-scientific data as part of its East Africa Geothermal Innovation Webinar Series.

Join the U.S. Energy Association (USEA), the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United Nations Energy Program (UNEP) under the auspices of the Africa Geothermal Centre of Excellence (AGCE) for the second instalment of the East Africa Geothermal Innovation Webinar Series presented by the U.S.- East Africa Geothermal Partnership (EAGP).

In this webinar, two experts from Tetra Tech, Mr. Robert Kennedy III and Jeffrey Benegar, will provide an overview of principles of data management as applied to geothermal licensing and geoscientific data in both mature geothermal markets as well as those in the developing world.

The presentation will cover: (1) regulatory framework including the role of geothermal licensing, (2) data management principles, (3) geothermal data considerations with respect to data management systems, (4) data types and formats, (5) other considerations including data standards, data cleaning, the role of Data Custodians (DC) in organizing and validating data for the DBMS, and linking it with GIS, and (6) an overview of system architecture and database design for geothermal and licensing data.
