The International Geothermal Association (IGA) is proud to announce that 40% of the candidates on the ballot for the upcoming board elections are female, a slow but necessary step to guarantee diversity in our industry and its representation through IGA. Elections to start June 30, 2019.

The election for the Board of Directors of the International Geothermal Association will start on 30 June 2019 and run until 30 September.

The IGA is proud to announce that following the Board’s decision on ensuring gender balance and equality almost 40% of current candidates are female. Click here to watch a video about nomination process.

The ballot sheet contains 50 candidates from 23 countries who are all committed to help shape the geothermal agenda and push geothermal energy to the forefront in the energy mix of today and tomorrow. We see the fact that 40% of the candidates are female, as a fantastic achievement and a clear result of IGA leadership to tackle one of the most pertinent challenges in the energy space: lack of diversity.

The IGA membership can vote for up to 25 of 50 candidates from 23 countries, the full is available on the website. Details on the individuals will also be shared ahead of the elections.

If you are a member of a national association affiliated with the IGA, you will be receiving an individual code to vote in the elections.
