Ultimately, GEOLAC will serve to catalyze the development of world-class geothermal projects in Latin America & the Caribbean.

The objectives for GEOLAC are wide-ranging and ambitious:

• Match long-term international funding and world-class technology to regional geothermal opportunities
• Explore possibilities for the transfer and export of expertise and experience from international success stories (Kenya, Philippines, Mexico, et al.) to the Southern Cone, Andean and the Caribbean
• Define the regional energy market: demand, supply – and opportunities for geothermal development
• Provide regional utilities and governments a clear roadmap of the core technological, process, and environmental issues
• Provide global geothermal developers and investors with a clear picture of where the regional opportunities lie and the conditions (policy, political, regulatory) which characterize each opportunity
