Exciting program released for GEOLAC geothermal conference, 17-18 July 2018 – Mexico City

The exciting agenda for the 5th Geothermal Congress for Latin America & the Caribbean (GEOLAC) has been released, featuring a great and insightful group of presenters representing the various countries of the region and the industry and public sector.

In less than 4 weeks, the 5th Geothermal Congress for Latin America & the Caribbean (GEOLAC) will take place in Mexico City, Mexico. The event established itself as the only gathering of the region’s leading geothermal stakeholders on the annual calendar. Launched in 2012, the event brings together public, private and multilateral stakeholders for two days of intensive networking and discussion on the prospects for investment in geothermal region-wide.

GEOLAC 2017, which took place in Mexico City, was the largest to date and gathered 150 stakeholders from 30 countries. 13 regional governments were represented by senior officials.

Since 2014, GEOLAC has been co-hosted by the World Bank Group. GEOLAC 2018 is co-hosted by the Inter-American Development Bank, The World Bank Group, and supported by Mexico’s Secretariat of Energy (SENER). GEOLAC is also supported by KfW and GIZ, the German development agencies, who will host a half day stakeholder workshop at GEOLAC 2018.

The organisers have now released the exciting program for the event featuring key public sector officials, developers and multi-laterals. Check out the agenda for the event here.

Among confirmed attendees are public sector officials from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico and Peru and from the Caribbean (Dominica, Nevis, St. Kitts, St. Vincent & Grenadines.

Among the developers are EDC, Enel, Ormat, Storengy, Reykjavik Geothermal and Polaris Infrastructure.

Multilaterals represented include: IDB, the World Bank, OPIC, JICA, GIZ and KfW.
