With the arrival of the drilling rig, early exploration drilling for the Nevis geothermal project in the Caribbean can commence.

With preparation on site finalised, drilling equipment for early exploration drilling work has arrived on site of the geothermal project in Nevis, Caribbean.

Developer Nevis Renewable Energy International (NREI) reports that exploratory drilling could start in the coming days and is expected to take 45 days.

DOSECC Exploration Services LLC, drilling contractors based in Salt Lake City, Utah, have been contracted by NREI to undertake the drilling process.  The test well is projected to be 4,000 meters deep. It will be used to collect all data possible to satisfy the financiers.

Following the drilling, data will be analysed and final adjustments will be made to the engineering. The production drilling is then expected to be started in early 2018.
