Extensive program of IGC Turkey Geothermal Congress, 6-8 June 2016

IGC Turkey, organized in cooperation with EBRD – the main financial partner to Turkey’s geothermal sector, is the geothermal conference in Turkey this year. With an extensive program and side events, it attracts a diverse group of industry representatives.

With news today of the new turbine order for the Kizildere III project by Zorlu Enerji, Turkey shows once again its importance as the geothermal growth market at the moment.  The project will add an additional 72 MW in geothermal power generation capacity and is expected to come online in October 2017.

This and many other details of Turkish geothermal development and issues on the operation of projects and plants will be discussed at the upcoming IGC Turkey International Geothermal Congress in Izmir. The event will take place 6-8 June 2016 and features an extensive program. Leading Turkish and international geothermal experts are set to gather at the Congress, which will be simultaneously translated (in both English and Turkish). It will provide updates and insights on the latest developments in geothermal technologies, financing, reservoir management, operations and exploration, as well reviewing Turkey’s geothermal sector, how it developed, and how it will continue to do so.

The conference, organized in tandem by ThinkGeoEnergy and Enerchange will take place at one of the region’s finest hotel, the Swissôtel Büyük Efes ?zmir. In addition to the many presentations and demonstrations, the conference will include networking events and outings.

On the first day of the conference, Italian Exergy will provide a unique opportunity to visit its turbine manufacturing facilities in Izmir. In the afternoon, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, will hold a workshop highlighting recent developments in geothermal energy and geothermal energy financing. The workshop is open to all attendees at no cost.
