Free online course in Reservoir Geomechanics at Stanford University

A free 10-week online course on Reservoir Geomechanics is being offered by the Stanford University to geoscientists, engineers, and research scientists.

Stanford University is offering a free online course on Reservoir Geomechanics which will run from April 1 to June 13, 2019. The course was designed for geoscientists and engineers in the petroleum and geothermal industries, and for research scientists who are interested in stress measurements and their applications to problems of faulting and fluid flow in the crust.

A background on geology, geophysics, and familiarity with the principles of drilling and petroleum production is recommended for those who will take the course.

The course will comprise of twenty 90-minute lectures, with two lectures released every week. Homework assignments will be given and will be the basis for the course grade. Upon completion of the course, successful participants will be awarded a Statement of Accomplishment.
