Geo Dipa collaborates with Halliburton for geothermal development

PT Geo Dipa Energi has signed an agreement with Halliburton to provide support to drilling and operational activities in geothermal projects in Indonesia.

State-owned PT Geo Dipa Energi (Geo Dipa) has signed a memorandum of understanding with PT Halliburton Logging Services Indonesia (Halliburton) to collaborate on geothermal development in Indonesia. More specifically, the two companies will be working together on support for operational activities, human resource development, digitalization, and environmental sustainability.

The signing took place during the G20 Summit at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC). GeoDipa’s Director of Commercial Development and Exploration Yudistian Yunis and President Director of PT Halliburton Logging Services Indonesia Parijaat Sadanand Dixit were on hand for the signing ceremony.

Yudistian explained that this collaboration was aimed at supporting efforts to accelerate the development and utilization of geothermal energy in Indonesia by Geo Dipa. As the only geothermal state-owned enterprise (BUMN) appointed to implement government-sponsored drilling,  Geo Dipa will benefit from the experience of Halliburton in the use of technology and methodology in the field of drilling support services.

Halliburton had previously signed an agreement with state-owned utility PT PLN to develop the geothermal working areas owned by PLN.
