Geothermal Expo and other news from Reno, Nevada

The Geothermal Energy Expo 2009 was opened yesterday in Reno, Nevada. As part of the event Nevada is promoting itself as a location for geothermal companies and the venue of the event is actually announcing a new geothermal heating system using a geothermal well drilled this year.

The biggest ever Geothermal Energy Expo was opened yesterday in Reno, Nevada. The event sees more than 120 exhibitors and more than 2,000 guests.

One article talks about that “Nevada is home to some of the world’s most promising geothermal resources, the City of Reno and the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada believe it makes sense for companies in the industry to locate their corporate offices in Northern Nevada. Another looks at the Peppermill Resort Casino and its new geothermal well. “The new green-energy system is schedule to go online in January. It will be used to heat all restaurants, casino floors, the expansive spa, plus every shower and sink in 1,600-plus hotel rooms year-round.” (source: Mercury News)
