Geothermal heating project by SWM in Munich successfully completes 2nd well

Utility SWM has successfully completed pump tests for the second well drilled for its geothermal heating project in Munich, Germany

The geothermal heating project by the city utility of Munich, SWM, pushes forward with the successful completion of the pump tests for the second geothermal well of the geothermal project Schäftlarnstraße (Munich). This was reported by German engineering group Erdwerk.

The second well was drilled as planned from the Southern Heating Power Plant, deviated to the southeast and reached a final depth of more than 3,000 meters, with a total drilling distance of more than 4,000 meters.

In the coming days, the final works shall be carried out on the well before the rig is moved to the next well location, immediately adjacent.

The drilling of the third (from a total of six) deep well is scheduled to begin in January 2019.
