Geothermal Rising announces winners of inaugural Tech Awards

Geothermal Rising recognizes the innovators tackling some of geothermal’s most important challenges with the inaugural Geothermal Rising Tech Awards.
Geothermal Rising has announced the inaugural winners of the Geothermal Rising Tech Awards, recognizing technologies tackling some of the industry’s most important challenges, from drilling and reservoir development to efficiency, cost reduction, and project scalability. The awards will be presented at the Honors and Awards Ceremony of the 50th Geothermal Rising Conference (GRC) in Houston, Texas on 22 September 2026.
Highlighting the growing wave of technology and innovation in geothermal, the inaugural Tech Awards recognize the work being done to improve geothermal development, reduce costs and risks, increase efficiency, and unlock new opportunities across the industry. The 2026 winners are as follows:
- 400C Energy – Calidus Multistage Hydraulic Fracturing
- Baker Hughes – Vulcanix Geothermal Drill Bit Solution
- Enegis – Permeable Fracture Imaging
- Exergy – Radial Outflow Gemini Turbine
- Geothermal Radar – Interactive Geothermal Maps
The Tech Awards represent a new Geothermal Rising program designed to shine a spotlight on emerging technologies and the people behind them. Award recipients were selected based on Commerciality (30%), Technical Novelty (30%), Technology Readiness Level (TRL) (20%), ESG (15%), and Industry Support / Presentation (5%).

As demand grows for reliable, around-the-clock energy, advances in geothermal technology are creating opportunities to reduce development risk, improve project economics, and expand geothermal deployment in new markets. The Tech Awards were created to recognize the technologies helping accelerate that progress.
