Green Rock Energy secures 3 additional exploration permits jointly with BHP Billiton

Three new Geothermal Exploration Permits (Permits) at Collie Basin in Western Australia have been granted jointly to Green Rock Energy and BHP Billiton Worsley Alumina Pty Ltd.

As reported by the company, “three new Geothermal Exploration Permits (Permits) in Western Australia have been granted jointly to Green Rock Energy and BHP Billiton Worsley Alumina Pty Ltd.

These Permits cover three blocks within the Collie Basin, with Green Rock Energy being appointed operator for all three. A substantial proportion of Perth’s electricity supply is generated from power stations in the Collie Basin.

Green Rock Energy is pleased to be involved with these Permits. The objective is to prove the technical commercial viability of recovering geothermal energy from the Permits, contributing to a reduction in the carbon footprint from existing local operations.”
