Indonesia considering state-owned enterprise to take over geothermal concessions
Indonesia’s President and the Minister for Energy have been talking about the possibilities to take over geothermal concessions and ensure faster development.
In speeches today at the opening of the 3rd Indonesian International Geothermal Convention & Expo, Indonesia’s President and the Minister for Energy talked about the possibilities to take over concessions.
Several concessions have been fallen back to the state, due to lack of development. So there are thoughts about the foundation of a state-owned enterprise that could take over those concessions and develop them to the state where they have proven their resources. At this point they should be interesting for investors as the resource has been proven.
Indonesia is the country with more geothermal potential in the world, making it a very interesting market for developers.
