Indonesia relaxing foreign ownership rules on geothermal power plants
In order to spur investment in various industry sectors, Indonesia has relaxed foreign ownership rules in the the power, e-commerce and retail sectors as reported by Reuters this morning.
For the geothermal sector, the new rules allow foreign entities to fully own geothermal power plants of more than 10 MW in power generation capacity and 67% for smaller sized plants.
This decision was made by Indonesia’s Investment Coordinating Board.
