The Global Geothermal Alliance (GGA), an initiative facilitated by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) aspires to achieve a 500 per cent increase in global installed capacity for geothermal power generation and a 200 per cent increase in geothermal heating by 2030.

It aims at enhancing dialogue, collaboration and coordinated action among geothermal stakeholders in addressing the challenges to promote wider penetration of geothermal energy in the global energy mix.

GGA has now issued a first Call for Proposals for activities seeking implementation support from the GGA. The submission deadline is 31 August 2016.
