JBIC continues to support export activities of Japanese geothermal suppliers

Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) continues to support Japanese technology suppliers internationally through export financing, with financing of projects in Iceland and Turkey in 2015.

The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) continues to be a big cornerstone in the global geothermal business of Japanese suppliers.

In its recent report on the Financial Year of 2015, the bank reports having made commitments totalling of JPY 2.3974 trillion ($19.8 billion).

With its activities, JBIC is promoting overseas development and acquisition of interests and important resources to Japan, maintain and strengthen international competitiveness of Japanese Industries. With its activities the bank has also been supporting export activities of Japanese turbine suppliers.

In 2015, JBIC provided export financing for the delivery of geothermal power generation equipment in the form of Fuji turbines to Landsvirkjun, the Icelandic national power company and export financing for turbines and equipment by Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems and TIX-IKS and TIX-TSK, to Gurmat Elektrik, a Turkish energy company.
