Job – Geothermal Project Analyst, Golden, CO or Washington, DC

Boston Government Services is seeking to fill the position of a Geothermal Project Analyst.  The Geothermal Project Analyst will support the Department of Energy (DOE) office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) in activities including, but not limited to, data and economic analysis, project management, and technical support for the Geothermal Technologies Office (GTO).  The position will specifically support the GTO Data Modeling and Analysis team.

Responsibilities:

• Support the GTO in identifying, organizing, and conducting complex geothermal technology R&D analyses and evaluations in response to various stakeholders needs and requests (DOE, White House, Congressional, Industry, etc.).
• Conduct technical and economic analyses and evaluations to support the development of critical internal and external strategic documents, including but not limited to vision studies, roadmaps, multi-year program plans, reports, briefings, etc. that will communicate impact of current investments as well as guide future program investments for maximum impact to the geothermal industry.
• Review technical reports, white papers, DOE and other Agency reports, policies or other current articles affecting the programs, budget documents, and outreach materials to extract relevant findings to inform GTO studies and analyses as well as be used to inform various stakeholders.
• Attend conferences, workshops, peer reviews, interagency meetings, and other program and project meetings to make presentations and participate in panels (e.g. Stanford Geothermal Workshop, Geothermal Resource Council (GRC) Annual Meeting, etc.).
• Support the development of appropriate technology metrics and tracking of progress against those metrics (e.g. Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE), Levelized Cost of Heat (LCOH), etc.) as well as various goals and objectives (Administrative, Departmental, Programmatic etc.).
• Provide project management, performance monitoring, documentation, and progress assessment for GTO funded projects.
• Engage with GTO stakeholders on an appropriate level to ensure needs and gaps are being addressed where possible at the Federal level.
• Successfully represent the program status to senior government officials, congressional stakeholders, academia, and industry partners.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering or Scientific discipline (Engineering, Renewable Energy, Energy Systems, etc.).
• > 5 years’ experience.
• Professional attitude.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
• Demonstrated independent problem-solving skills.
• Familiar with geothermal technologies.

Preferred: 

• Expertise in geothermal energy systems, hybrid energy systems, and/or energy storage projects.
• Project management experience/PMP certification.
• Ability to actively track and monitor government-funded research and development projects.
• Experience working within DOE EERE.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter, an ability to work both independently and as part of a highly dynamic collaborative team.
• Ability to balance multiple long and short term projects and competing priorities.
