The University of Auckland has published a job opening for a research fellow in geothermal reservoir engineering with the team of Rosalind Archer at the Geothermal Institute.

The University of Auckland is New Zealand’s largest university and houses the country’s most successful Engineering Faculty. The Department of Engineering Science (DES) are seeking a talented Research Fellow to work on a project in geothermal reservoir modelling technology.

The successful appointee will work as part of a research group developing a new generation of geothermal reservoir modelling technology. This research has interests in the integration of geoscience and production data, uncertainty and parameter estimation and advanced numerical methods for geothermal modelling. Working closely with Professor Rosalind Archer, the appointee will have flexibility to define the scope of the project in a way that best compliments their own knowledge and skills in alignment with both the group and the broader portfolio of Geothermal Institute research.

We are seeking applications from candidates who:

Hold a PhD in Engineering or Geoscience with a focus on computational aspects of geothermal energy (or a related discipline).
Have strong computer programming and modelling skills in regards to flow in porous media
Can produce high quality research outputs in conjunction with Professor Archer
