Chevron New Energies (CNE) was created in 2021 to accelerate lower carbon energy solutions that will be complementary to our strong oil and gas business, while leveraging Chevron’s capabilities, assets and customer relationships.  CNE is focused on scaling three key businesses supporting our company’s higher return and lower carbon objectives: hydrogen, CCUS, offsets and emerging, which includes geothermal energy.

CNE is already involved in major geothermal projects worldwide, including a Joint Study Agreement (JSA) with Pertamina Geothermal Energy in Indonesia, and a joint venture with Swedish firm Baseload Capital to develop geothermal projects in the United States.
