This job will be under a 2-year contract at the Research, Innovation, and Engagement group at ATU Sligo. The chosen candidate will be working as part of the Geothermal Energy Momentum on the Island of Ireland (GEMINI) project, launched in 2024, which aims to drive geothermal energy adoption across Ireland. The role will involve conducting a formal gap analysis ana full assessment of existing training frameworks, and future needs as geothermal technology expands.

Sligo County Council is leading the shallow geothermal installation at Sligo Regional Sports Complex, with Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) leading the research element of this installation. ATU is assisting both with technical and research work.

The position will require 39 hours of work per week. The salary scale is within €54,307 – €59,063 (IUA PD2).
