Taking place 25-26 April 2017, the event is co-hosted by The World Bank Group and will feature an exciting program

The Geothermal Congress for Latin America and the Caribbean is the only gathering of Latin American and Caribbean geothermal stakeholders on the annual calendar. Launched in 2012, the event brings together public, private and multilateral stakeholders for two days of intensive networking and discussion on the prospects for investment in geothermal region-wide.

ThinkGeoEnergy’s founder and IGA President Alexander Richter will present a regional overview on geothermal development and an outlook for the region in session at the conference.

The event will feature further a Technical Assistance Forum from the Geothermal Development Facility for Latin America (GDF).

This half-day forum on the new EUR 50 million ($54 million) fund to support early development risk in geothermal projects. The workshop will provide attendees with opportunities to coordinate on existing and planned programs utilizing GDF funds, discuss current geothermal development trends in the region, and address best-practice regulatory and legal frameworks.

The workshop will bring governments, developers, donors, financial institutions, and various other stakeholders together with the ultimate goal to determine methods that will advance early stage geothermal exploration and development across the 10 target countries in Latin America: Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala.

The GDF Workshop is an optional registration item for GEOLAC participants. There is no fee to attend. You will have the option to reserve a place at the workshop when you register.
