Kenya with target of 146 wells drilled and 1,100 MW installed by 2018/19

Kenya’s Ministry of Energy and Petroleum has released some ambitious targets for geothermal development in Kenya, with up to 146 wells to be drilled by 2018/19 and 1,100 MW to be installed by then.

In a recent programme overview, the Treasury of Kenya provided details on the actual achievements and targets set by the different ministries in Kenya.

As part of the reporting by the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, details on the geothermal achievements for the 204/205 period have been presented.

We assume these targets are not including private development. How realistic those numbers are is also not being looked at here.
