Lithium de France completes new geothermal survey in North Alsace, France

Lithium de France has surveyed total of 167 km2 in Northern Alsace, France as part of exploration for their future geothermal heat and lithium projects.
Lithium de France, a subsidiary of Arverne Group, has announced the completion of 3D seismic exploration campaigns in the region of North Alsace in France. The data collected in these campaigns will provide valuable subsurface information that will aid the company’s planned geothermal heat and lithium production projects.
The exploration campaigns took place within the perimeters of the Exclusive Research Permits “Les Poteries” and “Strasbourg” held by its sister company 2gré. The two areas cover 167 square kilometers and were surveyed using a total of 23,000 sensors to collect acoustic waves sent into the subsoil by transmitter trucks. This makes it possible to generate high-resolution images of the subsurface.
With a total cumulative surface area of ??310 square kilometers explored in just over 2 years, and an investment of more than 12 million euros, Lithium de France confirms its position as the first French independent geothermal heat and lithium operator to have explored such a large surface area in Northern Alsace.
“Arverne Group stands out for its unique expertise in geosciences and its mastery of exploration and drilling operations that meet the strictest standards in the industry,” said Pierre Brossollet, Chairman and CEO of Arverne Group.
“These 3D exploration campaigns are essential to better understand the subsoil and its constraints. They allow us to develop, in complete safety, our heat projects – which will benefit the territory in a short circuit – and geothermal lithium – a strategic sovereign resource, crucial for the energy transition.”
In 2023, Lithium de France announced the closing of a EUR 44 million Series B funding round.
Lithium de France has published a video summarizing the exploration work that they have done thus far, as shown below:
