Market consultation to be held for potential geothermal heating and cooling at CPK Airport, Poland

A market consultation will be held for the planned heating and cooling systems of the future CPK airport in Poland, with geothermal systems being considered.

Initial market consultations will be held as part of the planning process for decentralized heating and cooling systems to be implemented at the future Central Communication Port (Centralny Port Komunikacyjny / CPK) Airport, located in Nowy Oryszew in Poland.

Initial plans for the 5th generation network had previously been reported by ThinkGeoEnergy. When fully built, this will be the largest project of its kind in Poland.

The technologies being considered for the heating and cooling systems encompasses a wide range of options but includes geothermal systems, borehole heat exchangers, and large-scale ground source, air source, and water-to-water heat pumps.

The company notes, however, that ground-source heat pumps with borehole heat exchangers will constitute a significant part of the system.

The deadline for submitting applications to participate in the market consultation is on 30 June 2026. The relevant documents for those who wish to participate can be found in the Port Polska website. Applications are done through the company’s procurement platform.

The aim of the consultation is to identify available technologies on the market, as well as the options for their integration and implications on design and implementation. Contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, design offices, and integrators of energy and automation systems are invited to participate.

The initial market consultation is for information and advisory purposes only, and does not constitute a public procurement procedure or a call for proposals.
