The report, supported by the Mitchell Foundation, The Educational Foundation of America, and Project InnerSpace, features the work of researchers across fifteen chapters spanning a variety of subjects, from an analysis of the location and quality of Texas geothermal resources, to technology developments and the role of the oil and gas industry in achieving growth and scale, to environmental, regulatory, economic, and legal considerations in the growth of the geothermal industry, both in the State of Texas, and globally.

The Study has more than 100 authors, collaborators, and contributors from research institutions and entities across the world. Research institutions with participating authors in Texas include the University of Texas at Austin, Southern Methodist University, Rice University, Texas A&M University, and the University of Houston.
