New Law 1715 in Colombia to boost Renewables

The new law will encourage the use of renewable energy, encourage investment, research and development of clean technologies in the country.

The Government passed legislation that encourages the use of renewable energy, encourage investment, research and development of clean technologies. Likewise, the Fund and Non-Conventional Energy Efficient Energy Management, designed to finance energy efficiency programs will be created.

 The Minister of Mines and Energy, Amylkar Acosta Medina, said of the new rule:

“Are to promote and be stimulated in Colombia all unconventional energy especially renewable and clean energy” and explained further “contribute to solutions, to rural areas, areas that are isolated from the national grid to take up these unconventional solutions. “
