New Zealand and Indonesia reaffirm collaboration on geothermal
Following the launch of two New Zealand backed geothermal energy programs in Indonesia in June 2012, both countries recently reaffirmed their commitment to focus on collaborating on geothermal energy projects as part of their bilateral relations.
The two projects – one in Sumatra and the other in Sulawesi – are managed by Pertamina Geothermal Energy and have been provided with $300 million in financing from the World Bank and $6.5 million in technical assistance grants from New Zealand.
