While the overall electricity generation has fallen by 5% compared with the same quarter last year, “Power generated from renewable sources was the winner in the first three months of the year, with 73% of total generation coming from geothermal, wind and hydro power sources, the highest amount for this time of year since 2005.”, so the National Business Review.

According to the release, “Geothermal generation topped 1000GWh for the third consecutive quarter and is on target to produce more than 10% of the annual electricity supply this year.”
