Panax Geothermal drilling of Salamander-1 well progresses

Australian Panax Geothermal advises that drilling of the Salamander-1 well progresses, with a current depth drilled of 1,766 meters.

In a release by Australian Panax Geothermal (ASX: PAX), the company advises on the “status of drilling operations of the much anticipated Salamander-1 well as at Tuesday 16 February 2010.

The well is part of the company’s Penola Geothermal Project GEL 223 located in Penola, South Australia.

Total Depth at end of current week was 1,766 metres, representing 582 metres drilled for the week.

Panax was drilling ahead on the 17.5 inch section of the Salamander-1 well, interrupted by repairs to the top drive of the rig. Casing and cementing of the 17.5 inch section will commence shortly, which is scheduled to take approximately three days.”
